地球から見れば、月の大きさは、太陽の大きさとほぼ同じ大きさに見える。これは、太陽と地球との距離は、月と地球との距離の395倍であり、そして、太陽の直径は、ちょうど月の直径の395倍であるからなのだそうだが、まるで測ったかのようにぴったり同じ大きさに見えるのは不自然である。
